NOTE: ALL Sub Ohm devices should use a 50/50 PG/VG E liquid or higher VG - High PG in some Sub Ohm tanks, can cause leaks.
Vapourlites most frequently asked questions & troubleshooting guide:
We are completely aware whether you're new to vaping or a current user, there may be questions or curiosities associated with electronic cigarettes. We have listed below many regularly asked questions, however if you need any other queries answering please use our 'contact us' page and we'll be only too pleased to help out.
What Is An Electronic Cigarette?
An electronic cigarette, sometimes referred to as an e-cigarette or even e-cig, is an electrical device that imitates a traditional cigarette and provides an alternative way to smoke. They are recommended for people who wanted to save money, improve their health, or just swap from dirty old cigarettes.
My EGO or EVOD is not working when I press the button?
All batteries including EGO's and EVODS as well as some of the bigger batteries all have a 5 Click to switch on and 5 Click to switch off function. If you think your battery has stopped working, be sure to try the 5 Click method first.
How Does It work?
When the button on the battery is pushed it activates an atomiser which then heats up the e-liquid that is in the cartomizer or clearomizer. The atomiser is responsible for producing a vapour that is then inhaled.
How Is It Powered?
E-cigarettes are powered by a rechargeable lithium battery. At Vapourlites, we sell these batteries, as well as everything you would need to charge them.
How Long Do Batteries Take To Charge?
For the initial charge it is recommended to charge for at least 3 hours and then after that the battery should charge fully with 1-2 hours. This can vary between models, and will usually say on the description.
How Long Do Cartomizers And Batteries Last?
We recommend you change them every 7 days. Batteries can last anywhere between 30 and 120 days.
Do I Need To Change The Clearomizer?
The refillable cleartomizers can be used again and again by topping up with e-liquid, although we recommend that you change them at least once every 2 weeks, which will ensure a nice clean vape.
Most electronic cigarettes come with atomizers. Over the past few years e cigs have advanced and having a tank/ clearomizer that tend to be more convenient to maintain and easier to fill. Many customers have been confused with cartomizers, clearomizers and atomizers, so here is a bit more detail for you to digest.
What makes them similar?
Cartomizers, atomizers and clearomizers all have heating coils. The coil is the part that vapourizes the e liquid to produce the vapour. Other than that they are different...a little bit more about Ohms and resistance..
It's important to know what Ohms and resistance is all about and to know the differences between cartomizers and clearomizers.
The Ohms in both of these will tells how much resistance that device has to the power in the battery. The lower the Ohm the less resistance it has, so more power from the battery is needed. For example if you have a clearomizer with a 1.5 Ohm coil, it will use more energy than one that's a 2.4 Ohm. This also means you will receive more of a 'throat hit' from the lower Ohm coil. Also the lower the resistance of your device, the faster the battery will drain. Note: when using lower resistance items, they wont last as long as they are working much harder.
Clearomizers don't contain filler material and consist of a metal tube that extends up the shaft. In some, the heating coil is at the top or bottom of the tube, either way, fiber wicks extend from the atomizing coil and they soak up e liquid and take it to the heating coil. You also have top, or bottom filling clearomizers like our CE4 or H2's.
Different types of clearomizers
Disposable or re-buildable......Disposable ones like our CE4 are thrown away once they stop performing. Usually around 2-3 weeks depending on usage. The re buildable ones allow the user to take them apart and replace the heating coil. Again this can be any where between 2-3 weeks. Replacing a coil is more cost effective than replacing the whole unit.
The resistance in most general clearomizers care between 1.5 to 2.4 Ohms, however there are some on the market now called 'SUB Ohms' wher they are under 0.8 Ohms!
The bottom coil clearomizers have a heating coil placed at the bottom, however when the heating coil is at the top, you need to turn the clearomizer so the e liquid goes onto the coil or you will get a 'dry vape' or a burnt taste.
How to fill a Clearomizer
How to fill your top or bottom fill Clearomizer can be found HERE
Cartomizers contain the atomizer/ heating coil and the cartridge in one unit and have filer material inside. If you take the rubber tip off the end of a cartomizer, you will see the filler, which is wrapped around a tube. The heating coils are inside the tube.
Do Electronic Cigarettes Save You Money?
Yes, without a doubt! Using an electronic cigarette can save you up to 80% of the cost of smoking traditional cigarettes.
Where Can I Use My Electronic Cigarette?
As the laws begin to change, you will find that there are a few limitations being imposed on the smoking of e-cigarettes in public places. Although one of their many benefits is that they are legal for use indoors, some establishments have decided that the vapour looks too real to allow in their place of business. However, more often than not you can use them throughout the UK - it might just be polite to check in cases of doubt first.
What are the positives of smoking electronic cigarettes over tobacco based cigarettes?
Tobacco based cigarettes contain a combination of up to 4000 chemicals which can include carbon monoxide, arsenic and tar. E-Cigarettes DON'T!
What are the ingredients in the cartomizer and E Liquid?
The liquid in all Vapourlites products are made up of flavouring, liquid-nicotine (when ordered), vegetable and propylene glycol and manufactured here in the UK.
Why do you use vegetable & propylene glycol?
We feel that using these substances would be a preferred choice for our customers and it gives the best vape experience.
What is vegetable glycol and is it harmful to me?
It's a carbohydrate that is normally sourced from plant oils. Vegetable glycol can be found in toothpaste for example.
What is propylene glycol and is it harmful to me?
It's a colourless, nearly odourless, clear, viscous liquid with a faintly sweet taste. Propylene glycol can be found in smoke machines at night clubs and used as a food additive with the E number E1520.
How is the vapour made?
When air is drawn into the atomisation chamber prior to passing through the nicotine cartridge of the electronic cigarette which combines the heated air and nicotine to give you the same feeling as smoking. The vapour tastes and feels just like the smoke from a normal cigarette.
Does the vapour smell or leave a smell in the air?
The vapour is odourless and dissipates within seconds. It doesn't linger unlike cigarette smoke. It doesn't give you 'smokers breath' or leave your hands and clothes smelling of cigarettes either.
